Embedded Reporting Component
CrossCompass provides an
embedded query server that enables software developers
to add a query engine & report designer into their applications
quickly and easily.
The CrossCompass embedded query component will allow programmers to extract data from various disparate data sources
within their own applications, giving the developers more time
on the application's core requirement with the query
element being CrossCompass.
Typically this embedded query engine is
invoked when the user clicks on a button within the
developed application. Prior to this button action or invoking the embedded screens,
the system will have already communicated with CrossCompass to validate
the licence and the status of the environment.
The developer can also pass the name of their application to the
embedded component so any messages
or prompts will be in the guise of
the developed application.
The developer can also
invoke an error interface of the engine to decide how to communicate any
warning messages to their end-users.
